About MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre

Credit Union Amphitheatre

The largest concert-only facility in the entire Tampa Bay area, the Credit Union Amphitheatre is one of the Sunshine State’s premier concert venues. This 20,000-seat capacity venue, located on the Florida State Fairgrounds, offers reserved canopy seating for 9,900 and provides another 10,000-plus ample room to enjoy the show thanks to its expansive lawn.

History of the Credit Union Amphitheatre

Credit Union Amphitheatre was opened in July of 2004 under the name Ford Amphitheatre. This name wouldn’t last very long, as, in 2010, it ended up being renamed when a lawyer referral service purchased naming rights for two years, resulting in the venue having to go by the very unfortunate name of the “1-800-ASK-GARY” Amphitheatre. It’ll come as no surprise that everyone absolutely hated that name; it was a relief in 2013 when it was renamed Live Nation Amphitheatre for a few months before MidFlorida Credit Union purchased the naming rights.
