About The Anthem

The Anthem

Situated on the banks of the Anacostia River in Washington DC’s Southwest Waterfront, The Anthem is a variable-seat music venue and convention space that can hold up to 6,000 people at a time. Constructed at a cost of $60 million, this 57,000 square foot venue is one of the newest and most modern concert spaces in not just Washington DC but the entire Mid-Atlantic.

The History of The Anthem

The Anthem is an almost brand-new event space, having been constructed just a few years ago in 2017. It’s just one aspect of a massive redevelopment project for the Southwest Waterfront known as District Wharf, an endeavor to revitalize the neighborhood with restaurants, shopping, and other amenities for both residents and tourists alike.

What Makes The Anthem Events So Special?

This venue attracts the biggest names in music, which is more than enough to go to an event at The Anthem. On top of that, though, it’s status as brand spanking new means it’s got the most cutting-edge amenities anywhere. Plus, its location in the middle of District Wharf means that it’s surrounded by some of the best bars, restaurants, and shopping opportunities in the entire region. It’s also close to the National Mall if you want to get some sightseeing in, too – what’s not to like?
