The Richard Rodgers Theatre is a Broadway theatre in New York City, located in Midtown Manhattan, just a few blocks from Times Square. The theater first opened in 1925, when it was known as Chanin’s 46th Street Theatre after the architect who built it, Irwin Chanin. In 1990, the venue was renamed in honor of composer Richard Rodgers. Throughout its history, the theater has been home to nearly a dozen Tony-winning plays and musicals, including the famous Hamilton.
