Originally known as SMU Coliseum, it was renamed in 1965 to honor William Lewis Moody Jr. In addition to sporting events, Moody Coliseum has also hosted prominent speakers and musicians, including the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan. In 2014, the venue received a substantial renovation to improve the scoreboard, concourses, seating, lighting, and other features. For basketball games, Moody Coliseum has a capacity of 7,000 fans.
