Denver Summit FC Will Smash NWSL Attendance Record

by Rikki Bleiweiss

Denver's newest women's soccer club hasn't played a home game yet, and it's already making history.

Summit FC announced it has sold 60,000 tickets for its inaugural home match, a figure that will shatter the single-game NWSL attendance record of 40,091 — set by Bay FC against the Washington Spirit in San Francisco on August 23, 2025 — by nearly 50%.

On Gametime, the game is already the highest-grossing NWSL game ever on the platform, and it's on pace to become the all-time leader in volume as well. For context, the current volume leader — NC Courage vs. San Diego Wave from September 2024 — moved tickets at an average price of $46.89. Summit FC's debut is already moving at $81.30 average, nearly double the price, with demand still climbing.

The excitement isn't contained to Colorado, either. About 11% of geolocated ticket buyers on Gametime are coming from out of state, with California and Texas leading the way in traveling demand — a signal that Summit FC's appeal extends well beyond the Front Range.

The record-breaking attendance would mark a watershed moment for the NWSL, which has seen attendance surge in the post-Angel City era of expansion. Summit FC's debut suggests Denver is ready to become one of the league's flagship markets from day one.
