Our 10 Favorites to Win Super Bowl LVIl

At the start of the NFL season, all 32 teams have the goal of reaching the Super Bowl, while their fans dream of being able to buy Super Bowl tickets to see their favorite team in the biggest game of the year. For most of those 32 teams, reaching the Super Bowl is actually a realistic goal. Of course, it’s far more realistic for some rather than others. While the 2022 season is still in the first few weeks, we wanted to make some Super Bowl predictions of our own and make a list of the ten leading favorites to reach Super Bowl LVII and win it. Let's dive in!

Miami Dolphins

With a 2-0 start to the season, the Dolphins look like a potential Super Bowl contender. They have upgraded at the offensive skill positions, making a huge difference for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Of course, there is a ton of competition in the AFC, especially with the Bills in the AFC East. But the Dolphins have done enough to show that they shouldn’t be overlooked.

San Francisco 49ers

Despite losing quarterback Trey Lance to a season-ending injury in Week 2, San Francisco’s Super Bowl hopes are still alive. The 49ers still have Jimmy Garoppolo, who helped to guide them to the NFC Championship Game twice in the last three seasons. Garoppolo can lead the team to win if the San Francisco defense continues to perform at a high level.

Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore’s loss in Week 2 aside, Lamar Jackson looks like a man possessed. He’s connecting on deep passes and continues to be one of the most dangerous runners in the NFL. To be fair, Baltimore's defense has a few more questions to answer than we were expecting. But if Jackson is healthy, the Ravens are a contender.

Los Angeles Chargers

Even with a loss in Week 2, the Chargers have helped their Super Bowl odds early in the season. Granted, they still face a tough road in the AFC West. But the Chargers have clearly improved their defense dramatically since last year. If Justin Herbert can continue to evolve from a quarterback who puts up big numbers to a quarterback who wins games, they’ll have a chance to compete for a championship.

Los Angeles Rams

The reigning Super Bowl champs have seen their odds of a repeat plummet after a pair of unimpressive performances to start the season. It’s still too soon to write off the defending champs because they bring back a lot of talent from last season. But Matthew Stafford has thrown five picks and been sacked eight times in two games, raising a huge red flag for the Rams.

Green Bay Packers

Green Bay’s Super Bowl odds have also taken a hit early in the season. The Packers have had mixed reviews over two games, largely because Aaron Rodgers lacks a bonafide star at wide receiver. On the other hand, the Green Bay defense looks like it could be one of the best in the league this season. That should give Rodgers time to figure things out and keep the Packers in the Super Bowl discussion.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles have quickly shot up the list of Super Bowl favorites after two weeks. The offseason addition of A.J. Brown has revolutionized the Philadelphia offense. Jalen Hurts looks far more confident as a passer, in addition to being a dangerous runner. It’s still too early to leap to any big conclusions, but the Eagles have quickly moved from dark horse to serious contender.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This might be Tom Brady’s swan song, but Brady is far from the biggest reason the Buccaneers look like the team to beat in the NFC right now. The Tampa Bay defense has played at an elite level during the first two weeks of the season. The Bucs have conceded only 13 points over the first two games, collecting ten sacks and six takeaways in the process. At some point, Brady and the Tampa offense should get going as well, giving the Bucs the balance they need to win a Super Bowl.

Kansas City Chiefs

There were some questions about the Chiefs heading into the season, especially with Tyreek Hill no longer in Kansas City. But Patrick Mahomes looks like the same MVP-caliber quarterback that he’s been for the past few years. Through two games, the Chiefs are tied for the second-most points in the league, so the Kansas City offense is still firing on all cylinders behind its star quarterback. Unless that changes, Mahomes is going to make the Chiefs a Super Bowl contender yet again.

Buffalo Bills

There hasn't been a more impressive team in the first two weeks of the NFL season than the Bills. They have been dominant on both sides of the ball. Josh Allen has looked sharp, not to mention has perhaps had the best set of skilled players around him. And the Buffalo defense has played at an elite level, forcing seven turnovers and collecting nine sacks in two games. If the Bills can come anywhere close to sustaining that level of play all season, it will take something special for another team to beat them.
