Lollapalooza Festival 2023: Lineup, Tickets & Schedule

Year after year, Lollapalooza is one of the best music festivals in the world. Since 1991, Grant Park in Chicago has hosted what is now a four-day festival of music and the visual arts. There is music from all genres, including rock, hip-hop, and electronic, not to mention other forms of fun and entertainment. What what does the Lollapalooza lineup look like in 2023, and how can you get your hands on Lollapalooza tickets? Let’s take a look at everything the Lollapalooza Festival is set to offer in 2023, including the lineup each day and the best way to score a great deal on tickets.

When and Where is Lollapalooza 2023

This year’s Lollapalooza is taking place during the first weekend of August. It begins on Thursday, August 3, and will run through Sunday, August 6. Each day of the festival brings a new set of performers and a different lineup. As always, it will be held in Grant Park in Chicago. Grant Park is located on the shores of Lake Michigan and is close to many of the other attractions the city of Chicago has to offer.

Thursday Lineup

Some festivals ease into things, but Lollapalooza will start fast, with Billie Eilish and Karol G set to headline the first day. Obviously, Billie and Karol will be the nightcap. Earlier in the day, Lollapalooza will host the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen, The Man, Noah Kahan, and Sofi Tukker. Timmy Trumpet will also make an appearance on Thursday, playing fans his cult classic, “Narco,” as well as other songs from his repertoire.

Friday Lineup

On Friday night, things start to get serious at Lollapalooza, with Kendrick Lamar and The 1975 as the headliners. By the time they take the stage, the crowd should be properly warmed up with Thirty Seconds to Mars, Fred Again, Foals, and Peach Pit on the schedule. Fans will also be able to enjoy Sabrina Carpenter, Jessie Reyez,  Ken Carson, and countless others during Friday’s Lollapalooza schedule.

Saturday Lineup

Saturday is usually the best day at Lollapalooza, which might explain why Tomorrow X Together and Odesza are the headlining acts. Before they take the stage, Maggie Rogers, Meduza, Yung Gravy, and Pusha T will all get a chance to perform. Saturday is also the day that Lollapalooza is welcoming British singer and actress Suki Waterhouse, the Revivalists, and more than a dozen other acts.

Sunday Lineup

Traditionally, Lollapalooza has been a festival that tries to save the best for last. That certainly appears to be the intention, with Lana del Rey and the Red Hot Chili Peppers booked as the headliners to close the festival. This won’t be the first time the Red Hot Chili Peppers have headlined Lollapalooza, so they can be trusted to end the festival with a bang. Earlier in the day, Sunday’s schedule will include Rina Sawayama, Lil Yachty, The Backseat Lovers, and Louis the Child.

Ticket Options

With four days worth of fun at Lollapalooza, fans have several options when it comes to buying tickets. For instance, if you’re not available all weekend or you’re dying to see just one or two of the acts performing, it’s possible to buy a ticket for just one day on the secondary market. In fact, you don’t even need to have firm plans far in advance because it’s possible to buy tickets the day before or even the day of the date you want to attend Lollapalooza.

At the same time, if you want to get the most bang for your buck, we recommend a four-day pass. This will give you access to the festival for all four days. Granted, you don’t have to stay at Lollapalooza all day, every day. But a four-day pass gives you the option to come and go as you please, allowing you to see all of the acts you want and experience everything that Lollapalooza has to offer that you find appealing.

What to Wear

Whether you plan on spending one day or four days at Lollapalooza, it’s important to dress appropriately. Of course, there is no dress code for the festival; concertgoers should feel free to dress however they like. However, Chicago tends to get hot during the summertime, especially if you plan on doing a lot of dancing and moving around. Make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes, sunglasses, and fabric that will breathe. Just remember to keep a long-sleeve shirt or a sweatshirt handy for the late-night shows because Grant Park can cool off quickly in the evenings.

What to Eat

While Lollapalooza attracts music lovers from all walks of life, music lovers should make sure they bring their appetite to the festival. The Chow Town part of the festival grounds gives visitors a chance to stuff their faces and sample foods from a multitude of vendors that offer a wide range of cuisine. While Chicago offers some world-class restaurants, many of the Windy City’s top eateries will be represented at Lollapalooza, so those attending the festival can have the best of both worlds. Among the restaurants represented at Lollapalooza will be the Billy Goat Tavern, Broken English Taco Pub, Lito’s Empanadas, Pizano’s Pizza & Pasta, Beat Kitchen, Wow Bar, and Smoke Daddy BBQ.
