Is Madonna Going on Tour?

For Madonna fans, the wait is finally over. The Queen of Pop is heading back on the road during the summer and fall of 2023. This will be the first Madonna tour since her previous one was cut short in March 2020. But this is not going to be just another Madonna tour. The Celebration Tour promises to be the best tour she’s ever had, encapsulating the last four decades of her career. Let’s take a closer look at why this tour will be so special and what you need to know about how to get your hands on Madonna tickets for The Celebration Tour.

A Look Back

In many ways, Madonna’s Celebration Tour will be a career retrospective. The tour is being described as an “artistic journey through four decades and pays respect to New York City, where her career in music began.” After all, this July will mark the 40th anniversary of Madonna’s debut album being released. She also hasn’t been on tour since 2020, and outside of a couple of one-off performances in 2022, Madonna has rarely performed over the last few years. Plus, at age 64, this might be the best opportunity for Madonna to put together a retrospective tour that aims to encapsulate her entire career.

“I am excited to explore as many songs as possible, in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for,” Madonna said when the tour was first announced, adding: “I can’t wait to put the show together and have a moment with each and every one of you on the stage to celebrate the last four decades of my journey.”

Never Before

As mentioned, this will be Madonna’s first tour since her Madame X Tour had to be cut short by the pandemic in March 2020. But this tour will also be unique in other ways. For starters, this will be the first time Madonna is going on tour without a new album to promote. Madonna’s last album of new material was Madame X, which was released in 2019. But without having new material, this is the ideal time for a retrospective. With that in mind, this will also be the first time in which her set list will be made up almost entirely of her greatest hits. Madonna’s Re-Invention World Tour in 2004 also focused on her hits, although that was five albums and nearly 20 years ago, so the Queen of Pop has added plenty of hit songs to her catalog since then. This time around, it’ll be nothing but hits on what should be an epic setlist.

When Does the Tour Start?

Madonna’s Celebration Tour officially kicks off on July 15, 2023, at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. From there, the tour will twist and turn throughout the U.S. for the next month, with stops in Seattle, Denver, Cleveland, and Chicago, among a few others. The tour will then return to Canada with two shows in Toronto on August 13 and 14 and two shows in Montreal on August 19 and 20.

Where is the Tour Going?

Madonna will get a few days off between the shows in Toronto and Montreal, but that’s when the tour kicks into high gear. Following the Montreal shows, Madonna will play four shows at Madison Square Garden in New York in a five-night span. The tour will continue to Boston, Washington, Atlanta, Tampa, and Miami, covering most of the East Coast. From there, Madonna will do two shows in Houston, two in Dallas, and two in Austin, covering the state of Texas. Next up are four shows in five nights in Los Angeles, two shows in San Francisco, and two more in Las Vegas to finish off the North American leg of the tour.

When Does the Tour End?

After the two shows in Las Vegas on October 7 and 8, Madonna heads to Europe from mid-October to early December. That leg of the tour will begin and end in London, with additional stops in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Barcelona, Paris, Milan, Berlin, Amsterdam, and other European cities. However, the Celebration Tour will end back in the U.S. On December 13 and 14, with two shows at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The final two shows of Madonna’s upcoming tour will come on January 7 and 8 of next year at Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.

How to Get Tickets

Unless you’re privy to presale tickets, your best bet at scoring Madonna concert tickets for her Celebration Tour will be on the secondary market. Typically, the best thing to do with concert tickets is to wait until the last few days before the show to find the best deals possible. If possible, try to catch Madonna in smaller markets. Her shows in bigger cities like New York and Chicago promise to be a little more expensive on the secondary market. However, tickets to concerts in Tulsa, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland are a little cheaper. In cities where Madonna has multiple shows, you’ll have more options to find the best deal available. Just keep in mind that this could be one of Madonna’s last tours and a once-in-a-lifetime experience as she celebrates her biggest hits ever, so if you’re a true Madonna fan, the show promises to be well worth the price of admission.
