Beyonce Announces 'Renaissance' 2023 World Tour: Everything You Need to Know

For music lovers, 2023 will be a year to remember, and a big reason for that is Beyonce’s upcoming Renaissance Tour. Starting in May, one of the biggest stars in the world is embarking on a long-awaited world tour. The upcoming Beyonce tour will be her first solo tour in a long time, which is why fans have been abuzz since the tour was officially announced. Needless to say, fans are excited to get their hands on Beyonce tickets. With that in mind, we wanted to share everything you need to know about Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour, including where the tour is going and how to get the best deals on tickets.

About Time

undefined

Beyonce going on tour has been a long time coming, at least now that she’s going on tour alone. She toured with her husband, Jay-Z, for the second time as a duo in 2018. But Beyonce hasn’t been on the road alone since The Formation World Tour in 2016. She last toured as a solo artist following her 2016 album Lemonade, so this tour has been nearly seven years in the making.

The New Album

Naturally, Beyonce’s upcoming Renaissance Tour comes on the heels of her Renaissance album, released in July 2022. It was her seventh album as a solo artist, and just like the others, it quickly shot to the top of the Billboard 200 charts. In doing so, Beyonce became the first female artist to have her first seven solo albums make it to the top of the charts. The album received nine nominations at this year’s Grammy, including for Album of the Year, winning Best Dance/Electronic Music Album.

Since it was her first solo album since 2016, Renaissance was a deeply personal record for Beyonce. On her website, Beyonce addressed fans about what the album meant to her, saying: “Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.”

Starting in Europe

The Renaissance Tour will kick off in Europe. The first two shows are on May 10 and 11 in Stockholm. The European leg of the tour will be highlighted by five shows in seven nights at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Beyonce’s European dates also include Brussels, Edinburgh, Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Warsaw, among several other European cities.

Coming to America

The Renaissance Tour will finally come to this side of the pond on July 8 with two shows at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. Throughout the rest of July, there will be stops in Philadelphia, Nashville, Chicago, and Detroit before closing the month at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. In August, Beyonce will head to Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Tampa, St. Louis, and Southern California. September begins with three shows in four nights at SoFi Stadium. The final leg of the Renaissance tour will include stops in Vancouver, Seattle, Kansas City, and Beyonce’s hometown of Houston, where she’ll play two shows at NRG Stadium. The tour concludes on September 27 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

What’s on the Setlist?

Until the Renaissance Tour starts, the setlist is anybody’s guess. In January, Beyonce performed in Dubai, although she declined to perform any songs from Renaissance, creating some mystery as to the songs from her new albums that she likes the most and could include in her upcoming tour. That show featured a few covers and several songs that Beyonce has never performed live, as well as long-time classics like “Crazy in Love.” We also know that “Crazy in Love” is Beyonce’s most-performed song, followed by “Baby Boy” and “Naughty Girl.” It’d be a surprise if those songs weren’t featured on the Renaissance Tour. But since this will be her first tour in seven years, there’s no way of knowing for sure what songs will be on the setlist.

Who Is Opening for Beyonce?

Want to know who's going to share the stage with Queen Bey at her Renaissance World Tour? Well, as of now, there's no official announcement about the opening acts. However, the last time Beyoncé went on tour, she had DJ Khaled and Chloe X Halle as supporting acts, so it's safe to say that she knows how to choose top-tier talent. But, the rumor mill has been buzzing with possible contenders, and according to various sources, Bree Runway, FLO, or Tems might just make the cut. So, get ready to have your mind blown and your heartstrings pulled because whoever it is, they're going to be phenomenal!

Finding Tickets

Since it’s Beyonce's first tour in seven years, the demand for tickets to the Renaissance Tour has been unreal. Only a lucky few will be able to get their hands on tickets during the initial sale, making the secondary market the best place to find Beyonce concert tickets. Typically, fans should wait until the last few days before a concert to buy tickets because this is when tickets tend to drop in price. Fans should also keep their options open when it comes to tickets in different cities because some cities will have cheaper tickets than others. Also, cities that have multiple shows may have cheaper tickets on some nights. Ultimately, Beyonce will have more than 30 North American dates on the Renaissance Tour, so the key to finding the best ticket price will be keeping your options open as much as possible.
