2023 Super Bowl Odds & Predictions: Which Team is the Favorite to Win
The NFL playoffs are in full swing after this past weekend’s Wild Card Round. With just eight teams still alive, it’s time to start looking closer at the Super Bowl odds and what fanbases will be lining up to buy Super Bowl tickets in a couple of weeks. Given how wild and crazy this season has been, we don’t want to get into the business of making predictions. However, we will take a close look at the Super Bowl odds for the eight teams left ahead of the Divisional Round.
Jacksonville Jaguars – +3000
The Jaguars have a difficult path to the Super Bowl. But you never know what will happen. After all, they started the season 2-6 and somehow made it to the Divisional Round. They’ve won six games in a row and will be brimming with confidence after pulling off one of the greatest comebacks in playoff history. The obvious caveat is that the Jaguars don’t have as much talent as the three other teams in the AFC and will have to be close to perfect moving forward. However, the Jags are still alive and have a chance, even if the odds are against them.
New York Giants – +2500
Following a road win over the Vikings in the Wild Card Round, the Giants should be taken seriously. They may not dominate their opponents. However, the Giants have spent all season grinding out games and finding a way to win as an underdog. Not only does Saquon Barkley give them a game-changer in the running game, but Daniel Jones has been effective with his arm and legs, especially in that win over the Vikings. If they can keep running the ball effectively, the Giants will have a chance in any playoff game.
Dallas Cowboys – +750
The Cowboys might be the biggest wild card left in the playoffs. When everything is clicking, the Dallas offense is as good as any in the league. That could be enough to propel the Cowboys to the Super Bowl. However, Dak Prescott has also had a problem with ball security this season. Turnovers could easily sink the Cowboys, especially since they’ll likely have to win two more road games to reach the Super Bowl, making them a long shot.
Cincinnati Bengals – +650
On the heels of nine straight wins, it’s hard to believe Cincinnati’s Super Bowl odds are this long, especially considering how well Joe Burrow has played during that stretch and the talent he has around him. However, the injuries the Bengals have suffered to their offensive line have become a concern. Plus, the Bengals will likely need to beat the Bills and Chiefs on the road just to get back to the Super Bowl, so their level of difficulty is quite high.
Philadelphia Eagles – +500
Somehow, a team that was 13-1 a few weeks ago is being a little overlooked. A lot of this is because the Eagles lost two games while Jalen Hurts was hurt late in the season. Keep in mind the Eagles only had five wins during the regular season against playoff teams, and two of those were against the Giants. Nevertheless, with a home-field advantage in the NFC and a healthy Hurts, the Eagles are still a serious contender.
San Francisco 49ers – +450
On the heels of 11 straight wins, the 49ers appear to be the team to beat in the NFC. San Francisco’s defense allowed the fewest points in the league this season and allowed 17 points or less in eight of the 11 games during the team’s current winning streak. Equally important, Brock Purdy has taken the reins at quarterback for the injured Jimmy Garoppolo and somehow made the 49ers better offensively. They head into the Divisional Round scoring at least 37 points in four straight games, as San Francisco appears to be clicking on both sides of the ball at the right time.
Buffalo Bills – +360
All the ingredients are there for the Bills to finally win that long-awaited Super Bowl. They gave up the second-fewest points in the league during the regular season while also scoring the second-most points. Josh Allen has continued to progress during his career and appears to have a strong enough supporting cast around him to win a Super Bowl. However, with the Bengals, Chiefs, and the NFC winner in their way, the Bills are going to have to beat three quality opponents to make it happen.
Kansas City Chiefs – +300
It’s no surprise that the Chiefs are the Super Bowl favorites heading into the Divisional Round. They have Patrick Mahomes, and everybody knows that he’s capable of carrying them a long way. Behind Mahomes, the Chiefs won 10 of their last 11 games during the regular season. While Kansas City’s defense and running game are both average, Mahomes is the best player in the league and owns an 8-3 record in the playoffs, putting Kansas City in an excellent position to win another Super Bowl.
