Aaron Watson Tickets
Honky Tonk isn’t an insult. In fact, it’s a whole sub-genre of country music. The only bad thing about Honky Tonk is that particular song that refers to a woman’s’ backside – and the genre begs you not to associate that song with their music. One thing they do you want you to associate with them, or one person, rather, is Aaron Watson. He’s a Texas native who has become a country music sweetheart and a genre-wide success.
Humble Beginnings in the Lone Star State
Aaron Watson didn’t grow up with a silver spoon in his mouth. His family wasn’t poor, but he still had to work for what he has now. Part of that work began when he was singing in his church’s choir, singing the praises of God. When he wasn’t singing in church, he was listening to the real country classic artists, like Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson. You can hear their influence in his music, and honestly, we couldn’t be happier about it. Classic country music is the way to go.
From College to Career Musician
Even though Aaron was a great singer and songwriter, he still went to college, just in case the music thing didn’t work out. But as it turned out, that’s exactly where his musical career started, in the bars, around Abilene Christian University. He built up a fanbase while he was in college and graduated as a major name in local music and a rising star state-wide.
His dedication to his music during his studies allowed him to put out his first album, Shutupanddance, in 2002, which made waves all across Texas and up into Nashville. His second album featured the one and only Willie Nelson, an impressive feat in itself. Even more impressive is how quickly his career has grown from there.
