About Oakland Arena

Oracle Arena

Oracle Arena is a longtime sports and entertainment venue in Oakland, California. The now-aging arena was built in 1966 and underwent major renovations in 1997. Aside from the year it was undergoing renovations, Oracle Arena served as the primary home of the Golden State Warriors from 1971 to 2019. Though the Warriors will move into a new arena for the 2019-20 season, Oracle Arena will remain a venue for concerts through at least 2020.

Best Places to Sit at Oracle Arena

Floor seating is typically the way to go for Oracle Arena concerts, especially if you want to be close to the action. That being said, seats on Riser 1, 2, 13, and 14 can be equally close to the stage, albeit from a side angle and a slightly elevated angle. Meanwhile, Riser 7, 8, 106, and 107 are the best sections for a straight-ahead view of the stage, even if you will be a little further away from the performer.

For Oracle Arena sporting events, the Courtside Club is the best place, as you will be just a few feet from the action and be privy to many club-only benefits. Both the Mezzanine and Sideline Club will also keep you close to the action and give you all the benefits of club seating. Short of spending big on club seats, sections 101, 114, 115, and 128 will give you the best view of the entire court, especially if you are further back in the section to help give you a full view of the court.

Tips for Visiting Oracle Arena

Unlike many modern stadiums, Oracle Arena isn’t located in a downtown area, so there's not much to do nearby before or after an event. Parking, while ample, can also be quite expensive. To save on parking, many people take BART to and from Oracle Arena. It’s roughly a 10-minute walk from the station to the arena, but it's a budget-friendly option for visitors, especially since you probably won’t be doing anything in the area before or after the game.

Food to Try at Oracle Arena

While there aren't any high-end restaurants near the arena, there are plenty of great food options to enjoy at Oracle Arena events. If you like pizza, Oracle Arena has some "elevated" options, including a Sweet Chili Sriracha Chicken Pizza. There’s also a delicious 12-hour brisket available for the carnivores among us, plus two different types of burgers available that offer far more than just meat on a bun, not to mention a bacon-wrapped hot dog.
