About Yuengling Center

Yuengling Center

The Yuengling Center is an indoor sports venue on the University of South Florida campus in Tampa, Florida. It is the home of the USF basketball and volleyball teams but has also been used to host concerts, UFC fights, and professional wrestling events. It’s also the home venue for a professional indoor soccer team. The Yuengling Center first opened in 1980 when it was called the USF Sun Dome but was renamed in 2018 and is now affectionally known as “The Keg.” For basketball games, the Yuengling Center has a capacity of over 10,400 fans, giving South Florida one of the biggest venues in the American Athletic Conference.

Where are the Best Places to Sit at Yuengling Center

The best seats in the Yuengling Center are in sections 102, 103, 113, and 114. These sections are on the lower level and close to the middle of the court. With a little elevation, sections 202, 203, 213, and 214 also offer a great view of the middle of the court - these sections offer a better overall view of the entire court. There are also floor seats opposite the team benches and along one of the baselines. Sections 102 and 103 are the club seats at the Yuengling Center, meaning in these sections, ticket holders have access to a private club that features buffet-style concessions, TVs, and other amenities.

Tips for Visiting Yuengling Center

While the Yuengling Center is roughly 10 miles from downtown Tampa, the USF campus is only a few miles away from Busch Gardens. For night games at the Yuengling Center, fans can visit one of Florida’s best theme parks during the day and make the short drive to the arena at night. Inside the arena, fans shouldn’t forget to visit the giveaways table that’s near the entrance. The concourse of the Yuengling Center also features wall exhibits that show the history of USF’s athletic history, making it worthwhile to walk around the entire concourse one time.

Food to Try at Yuengling Center

The two items that fans should be encouraged to try the most at the Yuengling Center are the Cuban sandwich and the chicken empanadas. Both are as good as you’ll find at any restaurant or food truck in Tampa. The jumbo hot dogs, jumbo pretzels, and nachos are also among the fan favorites at the Yuengling Center.
