About The Novo

The Novo

The Novo, sometimes called “The Novo by Microsoft,” might have a weird-as-heck name, but it’s a solid indoor venue. With a 2,300-seat capacity, this Los Angeles-based concert hall, located right across from the STAPLES Center, has seen plenty of action over the last decade, and it’s since become a major mainstay in the LA music scene.

History of The Novo

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away (otherwise known as 2008), The Novo was known as a slightly less silly name: Club Nokia. Considering how you could use a Nokia mobile phone like a club, because it was harder than diamonds, this wasn’t such a bad naming choice if you ask us.

Yet the name of this indoor venue wouldn’t be as indestructible. In 2016, Microsoft took over Nokia’s holdings, and all the names changed. The next-door theater, which had been known as Nokia Theater, was renamed to Microsoft Theater; Club Nokia, then, was completely and logically renamed The Novo.

What Makes The Novo Events So Special?

The Novo’s greatest claim to fame, besides quickly becoming a magnet for some of the best talent coming to LA, is in its location. It’s smack-dab in the middle of the action, thanks to being right across from the STAPLES Center, and that makes it super convenient for everything you want to do on a night out in the big city!
