Stegeman Coliseum is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue at the University of Georgia campus in Athens, Georgia. It serves as the primary home of Georgia Bulldogs basketball and gymnastics teams. Stegeman Coliseum also hosts concerts and has hosted volleyball and gymnastics events during the 1996 Olympics. The venue first opened in 1964 when it was called Georgia Coliseum, but was renamed in 1996 after Herman Stegeman, who coached football, basketball, baseball, and track & field at Georgia during the first half of the 20th century. For basketball games, Stegeman Coliseum has a capacity of over 10,500 fans.

Where are the Best Places to Sit at Stegeman Coliseum

For basketball games, sections E, F, T, and U are the best places to sit. These sections are close to the center of the court. Likewise, sections EE, FF, TT, and UU are close to mid-court and provide a good view of the entire court, albeit from the second level of the venue. Meanwhile, section D is located directly behind the home team’s bench, while seats in section G are behind the visiting team’s bench.
