About Stage AE

Stage AE

Stage AE is a concert venue in Pittsburgh’s North Shore neighborhood, which is near downtown and close to the meeting of the three rivers that run through the city. The venue is also located in close proximity to Pittsburgh’s two major sports stadiums. Thanks to a reversible stage, it’s one of the few venues with both an indoor music hall and an outdoor amphitheater. It also has an indoor club and features some of the best acoustics and lighting of any music venue in the country. Stage AE opened in 2010 and has hosted many prominent artists. The indoor music hall at Stage AE has a capacity of 2,400 people, while the outdoor amphitheater can fit 5,500 people.

Where are the Best Places to Sit at Stage AE

The pit section of Stage AE will get visitors as close to the stage as possible, although sections B and C will provide a better vantage point of the stage. However, most tickets for shows at Stage AE are general admission, as there is a large lawn area for outdoor shows. Naturally, the indoor music hall at Stage AE has fewer options and less mobility for visitors during performances.

Tips for Visiting Stage AE

Since it’s located in a busy section of Pittsburgh, parking can be an issue at Stage AE. There are some garages and surface lots nearby, but a short walk is likely going to be required. However, there are multiple bridges for people to walk across from downtown Pittsburgh on their way to Stage AE, so spending time downtown before or after a show is a possibility. Also, guests should know that security can be strict at Stage AE when it comes to checking for prohibited items and the size of bags being brought into the venue, so only carry what you absolutely need.

Food to Try at Stage AE

There are several kiosks at Stage AE that sell food and drinks. However, the options are limited to a few types of beer and snacks like nachos. Anyone who wants a full meal should plan on eating before or after the show and not at the venue. Fortunately, there is no shortage of restaurants within walking distance of Stage AE. The Foundry Table & Tap is a popular spot, as are Jerome Bettis’ Grille, Southern Tier Brewery, and Tequila Cowboy. All of these places and more are located within a couple of blocks of Stage AE, so the lack of food options inside shouldn’t be a big problem.
