About Galen Center

Galen Center

A multipurpose indoor arena with a maximum capacity of over 10,000, the Galen Center is located in Exposition Park in Los Angeles, owned and operated by the University of Southern California, and is right across the street from USC campus.

The History of Galen Center

USC had been looking for an opportunity for an indoor sports venue that existed on campus for decades before breaking ground on the Galen Center in 2004. Prior to that, the university would use other nearby venues not associated with the school, such as the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena and the Shrine Auditorium. The funding for the Galen Center came in major part from Louis Galen, a successful banking official and longtime fan of USC collegiate sports, donated literally tons of money to the project to ensure his name went up on the building when it finally opened in 2006.

What Makes Galen Center Events So Special?

Galen Center is across the street from the USC campus, making it easy to find. It’s also just barely over 10 years old, making it one of the newest buildings on the block and chock full of the kinds of amenities you’d expect from a newly-constructed indoor arena. You can’t help but have a great time at this venue!
