About Brooklyn Steel

Brooklyn Steel

Brooklyn Steel is a small music venue in the East Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The venue opened in April 2017 in a building that was once used as a steel manufacturing plant, where is how Brooklyn Steel got its name. While it has a capacity of just 1,800 guests, Brooklyn Steel has attracted a long list of major recording artists in its short history. It has been compared favorably to Terminal 5, a similar music venue in Manhattan. In 2018, Rolling Stone Magazine listed Brooklyn Steel among the best music venues in the country.

What are the Best Places to sit at Brooklyn Steel?

All events at Brooklyn Steel are general admission, so there is no assigned seating. This means your spot during concerts depends on how early you arrive to claim a place on the floor. Fortunately, the floor area offers clear views of the stage from just about any spot. Brooklyn Steel also has a general admission balcony area for fans who want an elevated view of the stage.

Tips for visiting Brooklyn Steel

The acoustics inside Brooklyn Steel is considered by some to be the best of any venue in New York City. The sound quality will be even better on the floor than on the balcony. Fans don’t need to rush to arrive early because the sightlines for the stage are outstanding from any spot. However, there are three bars inside the venue that can get crowded close to showtime if you plan on enjoying a beverage or two. Of course, the bar in the balcony tends to be less crowded than the two in the lower level.

Food to Try at Brooklyn Steel

There is no food inside Brooklyn Steel, although that are several great Brooklyn restaurants located within a few blocks of the venue that fans can visit before or after a show. A few blocks to the west is Ringolevio, a small but tasty Mediterranean restaurant. For something quick and traditional, 29 Kingsland Deli is a few blocks south of Brooklyn Steel. Finally, a slightly longer walk to the west of Brooklyn Steel will take you to Da Francesco, which serves all of your favorite Italian dishes.
