About Ascend Amphitheater

Ascend Amphitheater

The Ascend Amphitheater is an open-air music venue in Nashville, Tennessee. The venue is located on the banks of the Cumberland River on the outskirts of downtown Nashville, just a few blocks from the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The Ascend Amphitheater opened in July 2015 and has hosted artists from a wide array of musical genres. Concerts at the Ascend Amphitheater have a capacity of 6,800 guests, although the venue only has 2,300 fixed seats.

Where are the Best Places to Sit at the Ascend Amphitheater

There are only three sections of the Ascend Amphitheater with fixed seating. Section 102 will offer the most direct view of the stage, although it will only be marginally better than seats in sections 101 and 103. For some concerts, there are tickets available in the pit section, which will get you as close to the stage as possible. Every other ticket at the Ascend Amphitheater is a general admission seat on the lawn.

Tips for Visiting the Ascend Amphitheater

Since it’s so close to downtown Nashville, keep in mind that the Ascend Amphitheater has no general parking area. The only available parking is for VIPs that must arrange for parking ahead of time. Of course, there are places to park in downtown Nashville if you don’t mind walking to the venue. The amphitheater encourages visitors to walk, ride a bicycle, or take public transportation to get there. Also, if your ticket is in the pit or the lawn, it’s best to arrive early to stake out a spot because those parts of the venue are general admission. Fortunately, the amphitheater allows visitors with lawn tickets to rent lounge chairs if they don’t want to stand for the entire concert and can’t bring their own chair.

Food to Try at the Ascend Amphitheater

While the Ascend Amphitheater is just a few blocks away from several of downtown Nashville’s best restaurants, there are food and drink options available inside the venue. There are traditional food options like burgers, hot dogs, and nachos. But there are also local establishments, most notably Hattie B’s Hot Chicken. There is also a wide selection of beer, wine, and mixed drinks available. Finally, visitors are allowed to bring their own bottled water into the venue if it remains sealed upon entry.
