About Prudential Center

Prudential Center

The New York Metropolitan Area has some great places to take in a game. From Barclays Center to Madison Square Garden to Citi Field to Yankee Stadium, the list goes on. There’s one arena that certainly stands out though, and not in a bad way: the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Not expecting that one? You’re probably not alone. But it’s time to highlight just how awesome this indoor venue actually is. Let’s take a look.

History of the Prudential Center

Built to be the new home for the NHL’s New Jersey Devils, the Prudential Center was opened in 2007. The Devils were happy to move from their former digs, the Meadowlands Arena, finally putting to rest rumors that one of the most competitive teams in the league was considering pulling up tent stakes and relocating to another state. Featuring a capacity of more than 16,000, the new arena was a welcome change, even if construction delays meant the Devils had to spend almost the first ten games of the season playing away games!

What Makes the Prudential Center so Special?

In a word? Amenities. The Prudential Center’s modern construction and design make it one of the most accommodating venues on the east coast, if not the country. Its more than 2300 club seats are also wider and more comfortable than the league standard. Throw in WiFi, personal dining options, and, strangely, being the site of the Grammy Museum Experience, and you’ve got a great venue that you’ll love to come back to again and again!
