The History of the House of Blues

Founded by Isaac Tigrett, and the actor Dan Aykroyd the duo opened their first House of Blues in Cambridge, Massachusetts back in 1992. Originally the House of Blues was backed by River Phoenix, Paul Shaffer, Dan Aykroyd, James Belushi, Aerosmith, and Harvard University. Although the original location closed its doors in 2003, the House of Blues has expanded to nine other states and runs 12 clubs. The House of Blues offers an eccentric experience that ranges from Burlesque, Gospel and live indie music shows.

 

What’s So Special About the House of Blues?

The House of Blues launched the International House of Blues Foundation in 1993. The foundation provides children with musical instruments and art supplies to help them find a way to express themselves through different creative mediums.
