Located in the Los Angeles suburb of Irvine, California, the 16,000-plus FivePoint Amphitheatre has a long history of being one of the West Coast’s most visited outdoor concert pavilions. Sometimes referred to as the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre or the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, this venue has gone through some major upheavals in its time, but the beat goes on!
The History of FivePoint Amphitheatre
The modern FivePoint Amphitheatre is located at Orange County Great Park in Irvine, but this isn’t where it’s always been. Starting in 1981, the rocked out on land originally owned by Lion Country Safari and leased to the amphitheater for a 30-plus year lease. When the lease was up, the original owners were long gone, and the land had reverted to being owned by a real estate company that told the venue to beat feet in 2016. The original venue was knocked down shortly thereafter, but FivePoint still brings in the crowds in its new location!
